Bringing to you innovative products handcrafted by artisans, unique as only a handmade piece can be, conveying the ingenuity and passion of the artisans. ​We believe the craft sector is the only industry that has held on to the importance of human interaction alive in an increasingly machine oriented world. It sustains on human contact at every phase of the design process, and this is what has preserved its significance and uniqueness in the modern world.

We draw inspiration from people, places, animals, and all things that exist in the world around us. We cherish experimenting with materials, processes, and techniques, from new to natural to recycled, to create products with an element of intrigue or play. Our meticulously designed products are carefully crafted and manufactured in India. We like to call our products FUN-ctional, products that are both fun and functional at their core. Along with designing our own products, we collaborate with architects, interior designers & manufacturers on custom projects.

Every piece of furniture is crafted with precision, using 100% organic polishes to highlight the unique character of the wood, while the incorporation of metal elements adds both durability and modern aesthetics. By blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, NDS Furniture offers tailor made solutions that embody quality, environmental responsibility, and timeless style.

The inception of the product design vertical at Soch was motivated by the challenges encountered while sourcing loose furniture from third-party vendors, which often lacked quality and functionality. Consequently, after meticulous efforts to gather skilled artisans and setting up a workshop space, the product design vertical was launched in September 2022, with a vision of providing aesthetically pleasing, ergonomic, and high-quality products that embody a keen attention to detail. This is in line with Soch's overarching goal of delivering creative, functional, and architecturally appealing products to its customers.

Lifestyle brand Orange Tree, founded by Second Generation Entrepreneur, Mr Gaurav Jain, is the retail arm of Basant
--- a major export house that has been designing and manufacturing contemporary furniture, lighting and décor for 20
plus countries worldwide for over 25 years, including industry-giants like West Elm, Pottery Barn, Zara Home, and Crate
& Barrel among others.
Armed with a keen understanding of global quality specifications and design aesthetics, down to the finest nuances
of hues and forms, Mr Gaurav decided to offer Indian consumers the same designs, finesse, and longevity as its export
counterparts. Thus, Orange Tree was born in 2014.
Driven by a strong environmentally conscious philosophy, all products at Orange Tree are designed in-house with a
focus on uniqueness, sustainability and experimentation. The USP of the brand is furniture products made from an
array of materials like wood (Acacia, Oak, Teak, Sheesham, Mango), metal, stone, ceramic, paper mache, bamboo,
jute and cane; creating designs that are contemporary and minimalistic in form but handcrafted in spirit.
Orange Tree prides itself as a brand that leads with its heart, nurtures the soul, and celebrates the spirit of design
while trying to balance the ecosystem and the economy. Our products embrace the essence of minimalism and offer
a harmony of contemporary design and environmental responsibility.
Over time, this craftsmanship has evolved and developed into industrial production in our narration, inviting in new
shapes, references and influences from contemporary design, bringing innovation to every step of the design process.
Our expansive 9,35,000 square feet state-of-the-art production facility houses dedicated wood, stone and metal
workshops, an automated finishing area, an expanded upholstery section and testing labs under one roof.
Sustainability is a way of life at Orange Tree where 75 per cent of power consumption is fueled by solar energy; we
have a robust rain harvesting facility, a mechanism for recycling sawdust and using it as a fuel in kiln for drying the
raw wood, besides running an active plantation project since our inception in which we plant 5000 higher category
Sheesham saplings every year.
Presently, Orange Tree has four retail outlets in Jodhpur, Hyderabad ,Bengaluru and Ahemdabad .

Studio Indigene looks at objects of varied scale and functionality; 
objects of decor and daily use. The forms are minimally designed yet 
aspire to form an identity. All the designs incline toward achieving 
clean lines and curves, with a keen experimentation of volumetric 
configuration and combining one or two materials with a base material, 
our favourite - wood.
Our designs are realised by the skillful handcrafting of our woodworkers, 
who are usually accustomed to traditional wood carving. They sit down 
with us to understand the designs we visualise. Together we devise 
techniques that utilise their skillset, at times challenge them even, to 
transfigure our designs on paper to objects in real life. The finishing 
of our products is also paid special attention to - the natural grain 
of the wood is retained. Each product is singular, in the realest sense, 
at our studio.
The designs aspire to become the centre of attention in a space, while 
being versatile to fit into a variety of settings and design styles. The 
play of volume in the wooden forms, carved out in pleasing proportions, 
highlight the wooden grains along their planes.
In the process of production, each piece is intently worked on, the 
crafting of wood, the assembly of all parts to make a whole - this is no 
less than creating a work of art. Each piece has a lasting impression 
on us as creators, and we hope that this translates into the user 
experience - for one’s hands to feel the beauty of what another ’s 
hands have created.

The Vernacular Modern (earlier known as woodlabs) is design studio working closely with an ever growing community of artisans who truly believes in holding on to the our vernacular wisdom and craft with an intent to bring back this knowledge as a part of our everyday living. 

The aim is to revive simple practices which are concious and sutainable to our surrounding, without compromising modern luxuries of life. 

At its core, "The Vernacular Modern"  draws its inspiration from profound connection to its cultural heritage, blending it with thoughtful creativity. 

Founded by Abhirup Dutta, an architect and product designer based in Bangalore, and Deeptashree Saha, an interior designer, and stylist hailing from Calcutta, Woodlabs is a homage to artisanal values and a slower, more intentional way of life.

Abhirup Dutta's inspiration stems from his grandfather's renowned "karkhana," a workshop celebrated for repairing and retrofitting components of Satyajit Ray's film cameras.

On the other hand, Deeptashree Saha brings her extensive experience in art, architecture, and the aesthetics of an evolving vernacular setting to the table. Her humble childhood growing up in a developing town allowed her to observe the transition in vernacular fabric.

Her education and subsequent work allowed her to hone her passion for the spaces and sharpen her
aesthetic as a collector and connoisseur of rural craft. This journey allows her to find a balance between traditional vernacular taste and modern aesthetics.

Together, they lovingly craft each piece with a generous amount of time and care.

The Vernacular Modern

 Founded in 2019, ’Vivaarta’ is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Ahmedabad, India.
 With an established practice across the design spectrum, ranging from kitchen to space
 design. All our products are still turned by hand on the traditional lathe, they are
 individually sanded and painstakingly polished in food-grade oil. None of the products we
 create are finished using varnish, lacquers, and stains to celebrate the organic texture and
 colours of each wood species. We have a knack for automotive lines which is the underlying inspiration for the dynamic forms we derive, which are then translated into our products.

 Merging traditional techniques with modern sensibilities, our approach to design bridges
 the past with the present, resulting in functional products created to inspire. All products
 are consciously designed, with aesthetics and craftsmanship that preserve local artisanal
 sensibilities and minimalism to blend form with function harmoniously.
